A Last minute gifts idea for BFFs on a budget

It is cold and everyone would love to escape to the sun (maybe not if you love snow) My point is every mum would love a “me time” lying in bath tub full of flowers soap, a de-stressing mask on their face, the candle burning at the side making the whole experience so sweet and relaxing! A mini bubbles bottle to have fun with (to be honest it is for your child so he/she forgets about you..haha)

I love personalised gifts especially when it has to be done on a strict budget! I hate gift that are been given for the sake of intentions or gestures! I would prefer you to keep your money for something else even if it is £1 (not to be rude, but what’s the point though? intention? no thanks! A warm hug and an honest merry Christmas would be enough, let me feel the love, here... that’s the point)

My theme is obviously a beach theme! You have the cocktails gels and shells you can play with and decorate a corner of your house with later!

I spent less than £7 on each gifts, what you might spent on a gift set bought on a strict budget (as I love to call it) but the difference here is that not only it is cute and personalised it has been thoughtfully wrapped up, handmade with love heey.. :)

I hope you like this cute and simple idea of last minutes gifts on budgets for BFFs! Enjoy your Christmas shopping!!

The nativity scene

Apparently, kids don’t like wooden toys because they don’t make noises according to Orange is the new black … :)
I love wooden toys! If I could I would get only wooden toys.

You know my opinion on supporting the belief of a bearded man if you read this, however, one thing I’m eager to tell my son about is the story of baby Jesus! Therefore I decided to start with the children nativity set! We are getting a book too, of course! :)
I wanted something my son can play with, and which I can also display. I’m in love with my choice!

Melissa and Doug wooden Nativity set

I grew up having the nativity scene under our Christmas tree, until the year where we were old enough to set up the tree ourselves and lost / broke most part of the set! Don’t even ask about the decoration pieces; I was number one breaking them among my siblings, especially the nicely wrapped gift ornaments!

Its now my turn to tell my kid “do not touch” non-stop! As my mum used to tell us “ one day your kids will do the same to you” :)

Do you always display a nativity scene too?

My NYX 24 days of lip advent calendar

Yasss ! I’ve got my NYX advent calendar countdown! Last year it was only a wish and 🎼look at me now… look at me now!! :)

As you can guess, I’m very excited about this!
I have chosen to go for a beauty advent calendar, which contains only lip colours because as you probably know from this post, I’m very bad at choosing my lip colours!

Now I have 24 shades, which I will have to try and wear and if I don’t like them very much, at least they are in small sizes and we can use them for Halloween :)

I have also decided to have fun with this countdown by putting on a beautiful face of makeup, which I think will go with the lip colour of the day. I will be playing with my Jacklin hill X Morphe eye palette and post on my social media especially Instagram, so if you want to see how this goes, make sure to follow me over there
I guess now that I said it, I have to do it, hihihi

If you are impatient to know how these lip colours looks like, I have found a video of this girl (Eltoria) opening advent calendars! Check her out if you are willing to get yourself a countdown to Christmas! And why wouldn’t you?

Also, I have put together some selections of mine below, I wish I can have them all :)

DIY advent calendar countdown for kids

It is the countdown for Christmassssssssss !!!!
I know this sound so duhhh especially if you are an adult trying to be good at “adulting”! Lets not go into this subject!

But let’s adopt traditions and create memories!!! Why not?
Nothing is much more important than to create the life you desire to live! (I think)

If you read my last year Christmas post, you know I decided to make this year Christmas more exciting for my little one!
He is growing and he is becoming much more aware of what is happening around him and what more ideal to start a tradition when they are young?

I want him to grow up being excited for Christmas and grateful for what he gets, that is why I would love him to know about Santa but he needs to look at mummy and daddy with an exciting smile and be like “Thank you, I love you” it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t say this now, but I hope this is what he thinks! :)

I grew up knowing about Santa but I knew the gifts we were receiving were from our parents. The most I remember is those days where our teachers would ask us to bring our gifts and they would keep them until the school Christmas party and called out our names to come and get our gifts (what we brought ourselves) from the Christmas father who actually is this black man with white hair everywhere and mind you … with his face coloured in white paint or chalk I will say, and if they had pay attention, with white gloves, otherwise you see the whole picture with black hands and wonder why?? Why? Where are your gloves? Or why didn’t you paint your hands too? Maybe I was the only one who always noticed …

I laugh when I see kids believing so hard in Father Christmas, it is cute though don’t get me wrong, but no! I want my son to know we bought him those!

I’m also this parent or if I may, one of these typical African parents who want their kids to learn something valuable from every game they take part of! Hihihi I know, but I can’t help!

I have decided that a countdown to Christmas for my son will not be only fun and exciting for him but also it will be my way to teach him patience! I’m hoping that he will learn every single day from the beginning of December to wait (impatiently or patiently, it doesn’t really matter) for the next day to open up a new gift! Wish me luck :)

Overall what you need to know about this DIY is that I had in mind to do something fun and cheap  but a traditional countdown item! Yes it wasn’t cheap! Even if I had decided to put only the kinder eggs in my basket, those would still cost me £24. But All I can see is everything in the bin except the chocolate, so I decided to go for things that my son will love and can keep!

Apart from that I didn’t have to purchase anything else that I used to make our countdown tree (advantage of being a crafter). You can purchase everything, already made, if you don’t mind a non-customised item! I listed some below!

I hope you have fun adopting a new tradition this year and creating memories with your loved ones !!!

My breastfeeding experience

Hey everyone! I have not sat down and wrote a blog post for a while and I thought I would talk about my breastfeeding experience today!

This is a subject that I have had in mind for a while but avoided it!  So many reasons to explain this but in general it is because everyone else has its opinion on the subject and choose whatever suit them!

The main reasons why I thought I would write about it anyway is that my experience could be helpful to someone. Moreover, I realised how so many people know nothing about breastfeeding and I would like to tell everyone who had or haven’t breastfed that breastfeeding could be a very sensitive subject and shouldn’t be commented on somehow! I know this won’t stop some people from being who they are and say whatever please them however I also know that there are some people who don’t mean to be rude or judgmental but they might come across as such!

I breastfed my boy until his 23rd. months and in general we had a beautiful experience just people around me didn’t let me experience this in its fullest without questioning my parenting choice and without making me feel guilty at times!

I had days where I cried for choosing not to stop and I had days where I needed to hide or don’t want to go out at my friends or family just because of people making fun of us or literally telling us off!

The most I feel when I talk about this subject is anger! I’m angry with myself for not been able to tell people to mind their business, for not staying confident and a woman of integrity when it comes to my choice of nursing! Just because almost everyone including some members of my family thought I was doing something wrong, simple as that! I have been dishonest with myself by telling everyone around me that my son won’t want to stop, that I do want to stop but I don’t know how!

Up to now I have people still questioning me in cheeky ways if I still nurse him and I quickly respond “no we stopped long ago” but if you are one of them reading this I wish I responded to you ‘none of your business’. At the same time I know it is not nice and it is not the best way that’s why I didn’t but please why do you care much?

I had mums who had breastfed questioning me if I feel some kind of pleasure while nursing my boy that’s why I kept going! Really??? Even if it was a joke, that joke was made in front of men that day and you probably know this question about the act of breastfeeding, which, if not all but most men ask themselves! I once tried to explain this and you know what? If you find yourself in this position don’t even bother, just ignore the question or the joke. The truth is they will never understand and it is up to everyone to choose to have an open or narrow mind!
I had mums telling me that I’m feeding expired milk to my son because at the time he turned 6 months my breast milk is not good anymore! By the way this is so not true! It is just ridiculous to me!
I had people telling me how my milk is useless at some point and that I’m feeding him my blood….I heard all sort of comments, all sort of ways of making feel guilty, the guilt , the guilt I felt it so bad for months and months…..not because I was doing something wrong but because I found myself been the only one against so many and it made me question myself a lot!

Yes, nursing your child all the way to almost two years old is definitely not easy. It was demanding and tiring. But I did it, at least my husband didn’t mind my choice! I had days where I wanted to stop but I asked myself these questions… if I stop, they want me to feed him cow milk cause he will need those nutrients so why am I stopping? To be free? Well deep down I never mind it this much so why should I stop now if we can do this until we both are ready?

I did all sort of researches and 2 years was fine to stop. Is it harmful to him? If yes I will stop!

I’ve never planned to breastfeed him up to 23 months! My plan was 12 months, I exclusively breastfed him for 6 months and started solid food then, but we kept going with the nursing! This is another choice that I had to explain as well! I can’t believe it: exclusive breastfeeding up to 6 months: why? Why? That’s what people were asking me. They told me how my baby is not been well fed and I’m starving him, OMG!! My baby was putting on weight so well. He was great! We never had to visit any emergency at all. My son was good! I wonder why people don’t just research and mind their business? Everybody’s experience is different, my son was FINE!

One of the most important things I realised during my breastfeeding experience was this: you can’t force a mum to stop nursing her child unless she decides it herself! And just because of that I would love everyone to just mind their business unless their doctors or health practitioners who actually have proof that the baby is in a poor condition due to the breastfeeding experience!

My boy growing up has been very into nursing that he won’t eat much. So he started loosing weight just before his second birthday. I went and checked on him and the health visitor told me: “yes your boy weight has gone down but he is a petite like you”(joking but it could be for a reason) and she said “we can’t force you to stop only you decide” and I told her sure I know!
The same day we got back we stopped! But at that point I have stopped the day feeds for about three months already, I was pregnant and my nipples were very sensitive and I was having a difficult pregnancy!
It took us almost two weeks for him to completely give up on the night feeds but he didn’t forget about it, just he won’t ask for it anymore!

About his weight: stopping didn’t change anything. I just had to be creative and mostly patient with the whole process of changing my toddler picky eating habit! In general he is fine!

I think I said everything that I want to say but since it is a little messy I will summarise what I think are mostly important!

  • - A mum will choose to breastfeed her child or not no matter what you think. That’s the truth!

  • - The same way, she will stop when she wants or had to, you can’t force her.

  • - If you are breastfeeding and want to stop, only you can do that; You might feel like you need help, which I did but I quickly realised, it is up to me and my boy and mainly me! Help is never a bad idea, however I don’t think that putting your child away hoping for her to forget about your breast is a solution. Your child might come back asking for it again :). Show her nicely and gently that you don’t want to give it to her anymore. If you have time and wish to have a much more gentle approach start cutting the day feeds first for one or a couple of months (see how your child react) and move on to night feeds (which are more difficult).

  • - Trust in your choices as a mum, follow your instincts, research and consult if you are not sure! Don’t waste your time explaining yourself to people most of them are just ignorant and want to remain such!
If you have to answer them make sure you stay true to yourself.

  • - Keep your comment to yourself if you know nothing about breastfeeding! Your experience is probably different from others. Know how to approach the subject even if you mean good!

I would love to know if you have ever encounter any criticism with your choice of breastfeeding! I’m really shocked at what I have experienced and in a million of years I never thought this could be an issue for most people “ my own life choice for me and my boy” however it was mainly my fault for not confidently voice my choice of nursing!

PS: I thought I would stop translating my blog posts, as it will save me some times! Also I’m sure my French supporters prefer reading me in English, if I am wrong please let me know I will get right back to it as it has also helped me to keep up with my French again! I’m sad to give up on this to be honest, it was truly helpful to myself I will say :)

Shein, Zara, Lovisa, Claire's and Amazon Autumnal casual Haul

Hello dear friends! I’m back with a casual haul AGAIN!
But to be honest I’m not sorry :)
I’m happy with all I bought and I really enjoyed filming this video. I waited impatiently, so imagine…

Anyways, lets move onto what matters!

I have shopped at shein.uk for the first time and yes…it is what it is! You get what you pay for but I was ready for that I wanted affordable items since we are living in a world where we don’t wear our stuffs twice anymore. But that’s not the reason why… I just wanted a lot for less hihihi

In general, I’m happy with what I bought; they will be useful items, as I needed them for!

On the website you get £10 off when you shop £80 +.
I paid 76p for insurance on delivery because why not?
Then my shipping was £11 taking out the £10 voucher I paid £1 for delivery and I’ve got all my items for £108 in total.

I’ve got my items delivered 7 days after; I think it is not bad with standard delivery.

I have received an email saying that one of the items that I ordered is out of stock! And they kept my money in my wallet, at shein of course hahaha! You can withdraw the money or keep it there and use it later! For now I don’t understand why my wallet balance is different from the item price, but maybe it has changed?
By the way, their customer service is quite good!

Hope you will like the haul!!!!

Eh bien ! J'espère que vous aimerez le haul !!!!

Back to curly / reverting my hair after the keratin treatment

Hi everyone! As promised I made sure I filmed my first wash and go after the keratin treatment so we can all see the result! What I love most about my new curls is how fluffy they are and this is because they got a little bit looser! And because they got a bit loser, they got a bit longer too and seem fuller.

Note:
  • Inoar has after care products for curly hair (shampoo, conditioner and mask), which I'm planning to get when I’m ready for now I only got the organ oil shampoo.
  • I dry my hair with the hair drier when I film because it saves me time! Alternatively I usually air dry for the same reason :)

Thank you so much for watching! If you like this video, don't forget to give it a thumb up and share! As always questions are welcomed!

Salut!
